AZAQ (TANA) The Azaq city (modern Azov) became known from the end XIII of century. In the beginning XIV of century Azaq was the important town in Azov region on a crossroads of trade ways between East (Khwarizm,China) and West(trade colonies of Genoa and Venice on the Black sea - Caffa, Soldaya etc.). Further, near to a fortress Azaq was constructed a Venice colony Tana (was colony of Genoa later). Presumably, the release of coins of Azaq city during ruler of Toqtu khan was begun. The AR and AE coins up to the first quarter of XV centuries with small breaks was issued. The large break in minted, as well as in economic life of Azaq was on time invasion of the Temir Leng, when the town was practically destroyed. On coins of Azaq XIV - XV of centuries it is possible to meet the following designations of a mint name:
