QRIM MINT (CRIMEAN REGION)

The city of Qrim (modern Old Qrim) is located on the crossroads of the old trade route leading from the Volga region to the seaports of the Black sea: Caffa (modern Feodosiya) and Soldaya (modern Sudak). Favourable location of the city, availability of fresh water and the perfect climate, were responsible for the advancement  in development of that city during Mongol time. From the middle of 13th century and until  the beginning of the 15th, the city of Qrim (the European name of the city is Solkhat) remains in the centre of Crimean Ulus in the Golden Horde. More details about  medieval history of the Qrim (Solkhat) can be found at the following site:  Pages of the History and Culture of the Crimea  (on Russian).
